This little venture began in 1998 following the birth of my daughter Raina. She needed a hat to keep her tiny head warm. I made her one out of polar fleece from the nearby Malden Mills (now Polartec) and embellished it with vintage trim and flowers. What began as a single winter hat has now become a business devoted to funky and whimsical wear for girls of all ages. The skirts and armwarmers evolved out of my love of thrifting and reuse of stuff that's already here...I just re-make it into new and funky stuff to wear!

I love that I can make a product that is both utilitarian and makes people smile. My hats are made of the best fleece in the world, Polartec polar fleece. They are embellished with vintage trims that I get at auction and flea markets and trace the trends of fashion in their colors and style. (Bobby Brady orange and brown is making a HUGE comeback!)
I learned to sew when I was 12 and have always used it to make things...clothes, curtains, hats, purses, animals, and yes, a living. It's a great way to create. Prior to making hats, I was a jeweler and I am now returning to it when I have the time. I love metal! (Secretly, I want to be a blacksmith but that will have to wait!)
